2nd Katti: [Action]

[So Lyn's had a strange time adjusting to Luceti.  On the good side, she found three of her friends almost immediately after arriving.

On the bad side, she's trapped, she's been told to expect unpleasantness from the Malnosso, and one of said friends has been kidnapped.

How does she intend to deal with the stress this brings on her?  Training!  She's out in a clearing away from general foot traffic, Mani Katti drawn, going through various battle stances.  Interrupt?  Challenge her?  Or just watch?  The choice is yours.]

Indeed I do. [In fact, he actually has TWO with him, but he'd never use that other one in a spar, except maybe if Lyn had her Sol Katti.]

[She does, but she didn't bring it with her for this. At any rate, she levels Mani Katti at him with a grin.] Then draw. Let's see what you can do here.

[He draws the Rapier he carries with him, it making a clean exit from his sheath. He holds it out in front of him and assumes his usual stance.]

[Once he's ready, she makes the first move, coming in from his left side, low and towards his midsection.]

[He deftly dodges that strike by stepping backwards from its range, and then moves in to deliver a thrust to her right leg.]

[She whirls to the left, and comes in with a swing toward his shoulder, hoping he'll overextend himself with the thrust.]

[Indeed he does overextend himself, but not so much so that he isn't able to react in time. He turns around and brings the rapier up to block her swing.]

[Lyn leaps back as he parries her blow, making sure not to let him deflect her sword away. She lands in a defensive crouch, holding the blade in front of her horizontally.]

[Eliwood takes this time to back up, putting some distance between them and allow him to refocus.]

[After a brief moment of staring him down, Lyn springs forward at him, swinging down at his chest from the left shoulder.]

[He brings up the rapier once more to block her swing. He then deflects her blade and goes in for a swing of his own at her left shoulder.]

[With her blade forced to the side, Lyn has no choice but to duck and roll to the right, out of the way of his attack. She readies her sword again as she comes out of the roll, swinging up from the ground at his lower torso.]

[Very good, Lyn.

Eliwood backsteps from that one, then dashes around to her side to deliver a powerful lower thrust.]

[Having just come out of a crouch after the roll, she's in no position to dodge, but she manages to swat his sword to the side with her own as she moves forward, now standing on his left side.]

[After that little display, Eliwood backs up, re-gripping his blade. Even though he's starting to sweat a little now, there's a faint smile on his face.]

[She moves her blade back down to hip level, grinning inwardly at the sign that he's enjoying himself. Stepping into a defensive position, she gives him a smirk, as if to say "come on".]

[HOOOOSHIII-- You did NOT just go there, Lyn. It is ON.

Eliwood's gonna run towards her and deliver a downward slash, followed by a thrust aimed low.]

[Bring it, bucko, I've got three missions and probably like seven levels on you.

The slash she sidesteps, moving to the right. The thrust she deflects, and with a grin on her face, she swings up from the right, aiming at his hip.]

[Yeah, but your Strength stat sucks. You can barely touch the Dragon at the end.

He steps to the left, evading her swing, and then thrusts towards her torso.]

[Just because Durandal is hax...

She lifts her blade to deflect his, but it only partly works. He ends up stabbing right next to her stomach as she holds his sword to the side with her own.]

[Snap. He hadn't planned on actually hurting Lyn, or coming close to it. He withdraws his blade and steps back, preparing for the next move.]

[Lyn's sweating and panting quite a bit from the exertion by now, which is probably why she slipped up enough to let him get that close, but she's grinning hugely anyway, and judging by that slash towards his gut she's sending his way, she's far from finished.]

[Lyn rebounding so quickly does take Eliwood by surprise, and he narrowly dodges that slash, it grazing his right side.

However, he's lived through worse wounds than a cut, and so, he continues on, and delivers a slash towards Lyn's left side.]

[She nimbly steps back out of range of his sword swing at that...

And proceeds to trip over a rock behind her, falling ignobly on her rear. She just sits there for a moment, blinking up at him.

Then she bursts out laughing.]

[Laughter is contagious, you know, and Eliwood finds himself chuckling at Lyn's antics.]

Hahaha... Are you alright, Lyndis? [He extends a hand to help her up.]
