[So Lyn's had a strange time adjusting to Luceti. On the good side, she found three of her friends almost immediately after arriving.

On the bad side, she's trapped, she's been told to expect unpleasantness from the Malnosso, and one of said friends has been kidnapped.

How does she intend to deal with the stress this brings on her? Training! She's out in a clearing away from general foot traffic, Mani Katti drawn, going through various battle stances. Interrupt? Challenge her? Or just watch? The choice is yours.]

Technically that's what it would mean, but that doesn't change the fact that they're still our friends and the people we know. They're them, we're us.

That's the best way to look at it. It's all really just speculation until we can get back, anyway.

That's right, we don't know for certain. Gonna have to live with what's here and deal with everything head on, yeah?

Exactly. Our problem right now is the Malnosso, along with anyone hostile among our fellow residents. We can worry about our problems back home when we can actually get back there.

It's like Luceti's giving us a break from our own problems. If you don't count the experiments that supposedly take place here, that is.

The Malnosso definitely aren't the only ones to watch out for.

[She lifts an eyebrow.] You know someone unpleasant who's been brought here?

You have no idea. She says she won't attack us in this place, but frankly, I don't trust her.

What's her name? And how does she fight?

Her name's Azula, and she fights using firebending. She's really dangerous.

Azula... yes, she was on the list another of my friends made about dangerous people here. Apparently her brother Zuko is even against her?

There's a list of dangerous people? Yeah. Yeah, he is. They don't get along and she wants to take his place as rightful heir to the throne.

Yes, there is. It was written by my friend Mark and put up on the journals not long after I arrived, actually.

Not a problem. We have to look out for each other here.

Well... I was going to be the next Marquess of part of a country, but in all honesty, I wasn't really cut out for the job. I ended up handing command over to another noble of the same country that I knew I could trust. So I was, technically, but not anymore.

So then you're a former noble -- not that that's a bad thing! You seem like a decent person, and not all nobles and royalty have something going on in their head.

I'm not really cut out to be a noble, when it comes down to it. I was raised on the plains of Sacae, and I'm much more comfortable there than in a castle.

Why were you living outside of the castle? Could it be that you were . . . banished?

Not exactly. My grandfather didn't approve of my mother's choice of husband, so she ran away with my father. I didn't learn that I was a noble until I was seventeen.

So . . . your parents ran off and had you all the way out in the plains? You grew up like a tribeswoman?

Yep! It's one of the reasons they rarely ever used my full name, so that travelers wouldn't recognize it as being one used by a Marquess's wife. They named me after my grandmother you see.

They used a nickname as a way of disguising you and your family's identity. That was a pretty smart thing for them to do. Was it when you were seventeen that they decided to tell you about your lineage?

No, actually...

When I was seventeen, my tribe was attacked by bandits. Nearly everyone, including my parents, was killed. My tribe fell apart, and I was alone until I met Mark.

Oh. Sorry about that . . .

But, at least you're alive and healthy. They'd be happy to know that you're hanging on there with friends to help you.
